Kennesaw Mountain Report  7/27/98

0735-1015  75F down to 72F  Slight rain as I started up the hill, became
moderate, and then heavy. Rain tapered off around 0840, so I drove back up
and KP came up soon after. Sky began to clear, then became heavy and
overcast again and heavy rain started just after I left. Winds calm in
rain, then N 10 knots in between and then calm again. All birds were in
between the rain showers.

BNWA 4 2if 2juv The juvs had gray heads with a couple of faint spots of
yellow coming in, and are similar to the one seen with an adult on 7/11.
They only retain this plumage for a few days once they leave the nest, so
not only are these very young birds but this is a second set!

In spite of the weather, a pretty exciting day for July with the CEWA and
BNWA juvs. The real migrants should start filtering in soon, not just our
