Time: 0700 -1100.  0700 weather: partly cloudy with haze. Clouds
increasing in coverage 68 wind ese 5-15mph. 1100 weather: low overcast
with haze 78 wind ese 10 mph.  Observers:8 kd, dz, ph, ch, clo, kp, dp,
bd + bbl with AAS field trip.   It has been another dry week in North
Georgia and it shows at the mountain.  There has not been any fronts or
precipitation this past week.  Really no measureable precipitation since
July  in North Georgia.
The last cold front passage was on the night of 9/8.  It was a dry cold
front it did not bring any precipitation.   It looks like the next cold
front passage will be on 9/22.  Right, now as of 1400 there is Tropical
Storm Hermine in the Gulf of Mexico.  Hermine is 137 miles south of New
Orleans moving north/northeast at 8 mph.  Hermine should spread rain from
the Gulf coast through the southeast on 9/20and 9/21.  This may slow down
migration and bring down some neotropical migrants that have been flying
by with the clear skies the last month.

Notes: 14 species of warblers on the mountain today.  Still very slow for
this time of the month. Also one 2 foot brown corn snake crossed the
trail on the bottom side of the mountain.
